Welcome Studio Advanced Settings Overview

Within Welcome Studio, there are a suite of settings enabling you to run and manage your webinar or virtual event exactly how you want.

Within Welcome's webinar platform, simply navigate to the cog wheel within the chat/people panel to access.

Agenda Visible

This setting allows you to make the agenda visible or not to your participants. This also impacts if your agenda is displayed on your registration page

Hover Previews

Displays a larger view of stage media/assets when hovering over the add button within your run of show/agenda/event builder panel.

Example:

Countdown timer preview is enlarged.

Stage Captioning

Enables standard text captioning of the stage in english.

Name tags

You can choose to automatically have name tags appear on the stage for any speakers or presenters on stage. This helps producers and hosts save a step of creating lower third overlays.

You can also choose to have the name tags automatically dismiss after 10 seconds if you only want the name tags to show when you first bring on your speakers or presenters.

Overlay Fade Transitions

You can choose to fade transitions between assets/media during your webinar. This creates a more professional experience as transitions are not as abrupt.

Disable Chat

By default public chat is on. If you want to disable public chat, simply toggle off the public chat option.

Clear Public Chat

From time to time you may want to clear public chat. This is most commonly used when people are testing before the event and want to clear any testing communications within chat.

Simply click the “Clear” text in red to clear chat.

Chat Slow Mode

For large events, you may want to slow down the speed at which people can send chat messages in public chat. Enabling this causes all attendees to have a 10 second “cool down” period before each message is sent.

Enable/Disable Q&A

Enable or disable Q&A for your webinar or virtual event by toggling on/off the Q&A option.

Enable/Disable Question Moderation

You can decide to moderate questions before they are visible to the attendees to vote on.

If this is enabled, when an attendee asks a question, producers/staff/moderators will see the option to approve or decline questions in the Q&A tab.

Enable Disable Anonymous Q&A

There are two options for anonymous questions.

  1. Anonymous Q&A - Attendee’s Choice - This allows attendees to decide whether or not they want their question to be anonymous when submitting questions
  2. Anonymous Q&A - All - This forces all questions to be anonymous

Enable/Disable “Raise Hand”

Attendees can choose to “raise their hand” from the Q&A tab. This alerts the producer/host that the attendee wants to join the conversation on stage (see below).

You can choose to disable this within the chat/people settings by toggling off “Raise hand”.

Hide/Show Poll Results

In some cases, you may want to hide poll results from the audience and present the results later in the webinar. To hide poll results/count, toggle the “Hide vote count on polls” feature ON.

Only percentages will be shown when this is toggled on.

Hide/Show People List & People Count

For some webinars or virtual events, you may want to hide the list of attendees due to privacy concerns. Simply toggle OFF the “People list” options within the Welcome Studio settings.

You can also hide the people count, which is displayed at the top of the “People” tab by default. This is usually turned off for smaller virtual events or webinars.

Enable/Disable Direct Messages & 1 to 1 Video Calling

To prevent attendees from direct messaging each other and/or video calling each other, simply toggle OFF the options within the Welcome Studio settings.
