Virtual Backgrounds

It's very easy to add a virtual background to your camera feed in Welcome.

Below are the steps to follow as a Producer if you want to Blur or Add an Image to your background.

1. Log into your Welcome account.
2. Enter Studio.
3. Join the Green Room.

You can then use the dropdown menu (below your camera and mic settings) to Blur, or Add an Image as your background. Your image preview will then show up on the screen at left. Once you Upload the initial image*, you can also change it at will. (Welcome supports PNG, JPEG and SVG file types for background images.)

*If you do not already have image assets uploaded, you may get an Error message - just upload the first image. After that, you can change out images.

You can also add or blur camera images as an Attendee, as long as you've been invited to the Green Room. Once you are invited, you will see the same options as above:

Note that virtual backgrounds and blurred backgrounds take a lot of processing power, so if you have too many browser tabs open or other applications running, this can cause the features to shut off or work improperly. The recommended best practice is to close all browser tabs and unnecessary applications when using the Welcome platform for optimum performance results.
