Closed Captions Guide

Accessibility for your event is essential, and for many organizations, closed captioning may be a requirement. Welcome offers a closed captioning feature that meets the international WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards. If you are interested in this feature for your organization, please contact your Customer Success Manager for specifics. At the moment, closed captioning only captures live content on the stage (this does not include pre-recorded videos).

How to Enable your Closed Captioning

This feature is very easy to enable in your events.

  1. In your Event Control Room, click the cogwheel at the top right corner.
  2. Click the toggle for Stage Captioning.

How do Attendees turn on Closed Captioning

If this feature is enabled in the event, attendees will see a square button at the bottom left corner of the stage that says "CC". Clicking on the button will turn it on.

How to get Closed Caption Transcripts

Another great feature function is that you can pull transcripts for your recordings after your event. To access your transcript, go to your Event Dashboard Recording Tab, and under your recording will be a button to Download Subtitles.
